This is a study we need to examine...It is NOT about anyone but it is about ALL of us. We ALL struggle with pride, humility, etc...

God sifts the wheat...He resists the proud.
Why?

Let's see below.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.
Luke 22:31

For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
Amos. 9:9-10

Are the unrepentant, the unforgiving, the sinners prideful? Lacking in humility?
Yes! If we die to self, kill the flesh, then and only then will the Lord use us rather than sift us.

What are the things that God hates?

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Prov. 6:16-19

Do you see yourself in the scripture above?
If so, it is time to change. I see that I, at times, fit into this category and only a fool or a liar would say they don't. We ALL struggle with stubborness, and the things above in Proverbs.

There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro. 30:13

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
Psa. 10:4

For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
Psa. 18:27

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
Psa. 73:6-8

Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Psa. 101:5

LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
Psa. 131:1

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
Isa. 2:11

The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
Isa. 3:9

Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
Isa. 3:16-17

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
James 4:6

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1 Peter. 5:5

God resisteth the proud is in a few verses as quoted from Pro. 3:34. Peter had James before his mind, and gives his Epistle inspired sanction. Other sins flee from God: pride alone opposeth itself to God; therefore, God also in turn opposes Himself to the proud.

Humility is the vessel of all graces.

When we humble ourselves, when we kill the self/pride, we will be vessels used of God.

For our God is a consuming fire.
Heb. 12:29

In the name of Yeshua haMashiach,
God bless you!
